THOSE who find it difficult to get a natural tan often turn to faking it.
However, this can go wrong, so knowing how to remove your fake tan properly and without damaging your skin is crucial.
How to remove fake tan
Baby Oil
Baby oil serves more than just one purpose it seems.
Not only is it good at soothing sensitive skin, but this magic liquid is also great at removing the most stubborn of fake tan disasters.
In order to remove your fake tan you need to coat the area of fake tan in a layer of baby oil, get in your comfiest loungewear and wait for at least half-hour so the oil can absorb into the skin properly.
The way it works is the oil loosens the dead skin cells that have been dyed brown by the tan.
After this, run yourself a bath and exfoliate the moisturised area.
Not only will you be streak-free but will also leave your skin feeling silky smooth.

Lemon Juice
As well as being used in cooking, lemon juice could be your best friend when removing fake tan.
Besides adding a citrusy kick to your soft drink this summer, lemon juice also works wonders in bleaching the area of fake tan and remove the pigmentation.
You can apply it directly to the skin or mix it with a cup of sugar to double up as an exfoliator.
If lemon juice is tough enough to bleach your hair, it's certainly up to the job of sorting out some fake tan gone wrong.
Toothpaste
Another safer method of fixing patches is using another cabinet favourite – toothpaste.
Boots recommends using a whitening toothpaste on any dark patches.
They said: "In the same way toothpaste whitens teeth, it can also lighten fake-tan patches.
"Simply pop it onto any particularly unsightly patches, leave on for a minute and then wash off."
Window cleaner
This definitely isn't one to try at home, but supermodel Ashley Graham seems to think it works.
Yes, the plus-size campaigner revealed her weird fake tan beauty hack on her Instagram stories.
Having suffered something of a fake tan disaster (because supermodels are human too, you know), Ashley looked no further than her trusty stash of window cleaner to sort the error of beautiful ways.
However, we wouldn't recommend using your household cleaning supplies.
