A DIY pro has revealed how she transformed an £8 charity shop find into a dupe for an Anthropologie dresser worth more than £1.2k – but trolls aren’t convinced.
Christina took to TikTok to share her latest project, turning a bog-standard buffet table into the storage unit of her dreams.
But trolls say she made an error, both my covering up the original burl wood and her imperfect paint job.
Known online as @flipdaddie, the content creator regularly shares her furniture flips and interior design ideas with her 22,600 followers.
In a new reel, she said: “Watch me transform this $9.99 buffet table from Goodwill into an Anthropologie dupe.”
During the 46-second video, Christina started by filling in any holes and imperfections with wood filler, before sanding down and priming the entire unit.

She also removed all of the existing brass hardware, before spray-painting it gold to match the gold-toned feet she added to the base.
Next, she used a stencil to create a white floral pattern across the front of the dresser, and added some faux brass handles to the drawers and doors,
Finally, Christina coat the entire thing with a furniture lacquer to protect it against wear and tear.
Shoppers can pick up grey furniture paint from various retailers, including Amazon, with prices starting at just £10.

White spray paint and furniture lacquer are also available to shop online, with prices starting at just £6.45.
Her latest project attracted plenty of attention online, with the video gaining more than 164,000 likes and 2.2 million views.
In the comments, TikTokkers shared their reactions, with one writing: “Freaking love it.”
“Definitely looks better after lol before it looked like something my 90-year-old grandmother set doilies on,” shared another.
Although not all were fans of her upcycle, with another adding: “This is a travesty. Doing this on an IKEA piece would have yielded the same outcome without ruining that burl.”
Someone else put: “As someone who has been hunting for mid century pieces – this hurts so bad.”
A third commented: “Noo. So pretty before. The paint DRIPPING and the paint outside of the stencil line. Oof.”
