FASHIONISTAS love Kim Kardashian's shapewear brand Skims, and social media is full of influencers trying on their brand-new garments.
One TikTok user was filming a review of her new Skims when something terrible happened – and she insists the problem has never happened to her with other brands.
When Kristal Heredia tried on the garment for her 685k TikTok followers, she clearly didn't expect a major malfunction.
Heredia appeared to be wearing the Skims Solution Short, a one-legged piece of shapewear that's meant to be paired with slitted dresses and skirts. The regular retail price is $42.
"I'm currently trying to pull these up without ripping them," a smiling Heredia explained at the beginning of the video.
She was clearly struggling, but still seemed in good humor, laughing slightly as she confessed, "I can't breathe!"

Moments later, though, Heredia stared at the camera in shock.
"I just ripped them," she said to the camera. "They ripped."
As she stepped back, she showed a large hole visible in the thigh of the shapewear.
Heredia insisted that she's never encountered a similar issue with other brands.

"Other shapewear hasn't ripped," a bewildered Heredia said.
Even without the rip in the leg, Heredia was frustrated with the function of the shapewear.
Her Skims waistband, meant to cinch her center and stay in place, wouldn't stop snapping back down to her hips.
"They keep rolling," Heredia said, demonstrating for the camera. She pulled the waistband up to its proper height, only to have it roll back down her body. "What the f***?"
In the comments, several people told Heredia that she probably bought the Skims in a size too small, but she said that wasn't likely to be the issue.
"I sized up and it didn’t work," she confirmed. "They’re not for me."
"The skims I own roll so damn bad. It’s so disappointing," a viewer commiserated. "I sized up and they still roll down."
Some pointed out the problem may not have been the shapewear itself.
"Unfortunately her nails are what probably ripped them," one commenter wrote. "My friends had to buy gloves to put them on."
Others reported they have experienced rips and rolling from countless brands.
In fact, a few viewers said Heredia was just lucky that she went so long without encountering the problem herself.
"How are we decades into shapewear and still can’t find a solution?" a person asked.
Meanwhile, one plus-size shopper regrets making her Skims purchase.
YouTuber Miss Jemima had high expectations for the brand's famed shapewear, but not after she couldn't put on one item.
