PLANNING a birthday party can be stressful, and heartbreaking if people don’t show up.
One daughter revealed she broke down in tears after her mum spent all day cleaning the house for her own birthday, and then not one of the 40 guests came.
TikTok user Addie, who posts under @addieraej, uploaded a clip showing herself in tears.
She said: “My mum threw herself a birthday party and invited over 40 people.
"It's 5pm, no one showed up and it started at 4pm, I'm crying.”
Addie added in the caption: "She made food and cleaned the whole house too."

She later shared a follow-up video sharing the moment she and her sisters sang happy birthday to their mum with a cake.
The TikToker added: "Even though it was just me and my sisters to sing to her, thank you to everyone who was showing her love.
"Guys, mum is ok, she is happy, thank you for everything that you've been saying.”
Her original video has racked up over 20 million views, and people were left heartbroken by the situation.

Thankfully the story had a happy ending.
The video received attention from Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers in the Netflix TV show.
He wrote in the comment section “I would be there! Happy birthday” and it cheered the mum up.
Addie joked in response: “Mom who only cares that Noah Schnapp knows she exists.”
