I build a privacy fence in 90 minutes using bargain buys from Wickes and I still get all the sunshine I did before too | The Sun

A MUM-OF-TWO has shared how she created a privacy fence in her garden without compromising on ANY natural light.

One big fear about sticking up high fence in the garden is that it may shade too much of your outdoor space when the sun is out.

But DIY whizz Laura, who posts under House Project 36, shared how she built the privacy wall during half term.

Her tots even got involved in the building process.

Laura’s first port of call was to build a frame to support wooden privacy panels and screw it into the existing fence.

She then lined up five trellis panels from Wickes, at a cool £22.50 each, to line the frame and create the privacy wall.

People slammed my DIY kitchen saying it’ll look cheap but I got the last laugh

I changed my bathroom for less than £200 after a trip to B&M bargains…here’s how

The slats had slight gaps between the short wooden panels to allow sunlight to seep through.

These were secured to the frame with a nail gun – and just like that, the privacy wall was finished.

“I used five slatted trellis panels at £22.50 to screen off the low fence which sits at the end of the decking,” Laura elaborated in the caption.

“The panels are 180cm high and now offer privacy whilst not affecting light!

"Total cost £112.50 for this three metre stretch.

“Now bring on the sun so I can enjoy this spot in something more summery than joggers and a sweatshirt.”

She furnished the decking area with plant pots, sun loungers and an outdoor rug.
