IT'S so difficult to get laundry dry when it's cold and dreary outside.
And amid the cost of living crisis, we're all trying to avoid using the tumble dryer for things like sheets and towels – simply because it just take so long.
But one woman has come up with an ingenious way to get round the problem.
The self-proclaimed 'Duchess of Thrift' took to her TikTok page to share a video explaining her clever hack, revealing that she swaps out the thick towels she uses in the summer for microfibre ones when it's winter.
"The reason these are great in winter – because they're microfibre, they're like fleece, and it dries incredible quickly," she said.
"If you put them in the tumble dryer, they'll be dry in 10 minutes.

"I try to avoid using my tumble dryer because it guzzles electricity.
"And although the prices have dropped a little bit, it's still over double the price it was before lockdown.
"It's still insanely expensive and I want to keep my energy bills down, so these dry really, really quickly in the tumble dryer."
And if you don't want to use your tumble dryer at all,the microfibre towels will still dry on an airer or heated airer in a "fraction of the time" compared to normal towels.

"So by switching in winter to these microfibre towels, I will save myself loads of money on tumble drying and I'll also save myself from them having that horrible damp smell," she said.
"It's £24.99 for a bale of them on Amazon and like I say, I had these last winter and they're still going strong."
The other thing she does is ration the amount of towels her kids use per week – giving them one hand towel and one normal towel to last them for five days.
"I'll have a storage box under my bed and I'll put the summer towels away so the kids can't get them," she said.
"So by rationing the amount of towels they can use per week it will save me an absolute fortune and just time as well in just trying to get them dry."
"I’m remember you recommending these last year and I got some," one person commented on the video.
"One of the best decisions! They’re so good and I wouldn’t be without them now!"
"A double spin on every wash load before hanging on the airer really helps," another added.
"Probably not needed for those towels though, they look good!"
