I found a Swiffer dupe at the Dollar Store – it makes mopping so much easier, I'm really impressed | The Sun

A TIKTOKER has shared a new hack that will help you to keep your floors shiny and clean.

The woman spent just a few dollars on a dupe for a name-brand mop and is thrilled with the results.

Content creator J. Schims (@jschims) has more than 26,000 followers on TikTok and posts life updates and cleaning hacks to her page.

A video featuring her Swiffer dupe opened showing a mop head on the floor.

She said: "I've been on the lookout for something I could use for spot cleaning when I came across this Dollar Store Swiffer dupe."

J. Schims then reached her hand into the frame and attached the mop head to a mop handle.

The video cut to show a packet of disposable wet sweeping cloths with a fresh scent.

"For only a few dollars, I figured it was worth a try," she said.

J. Schims laid out one of the square sweeping cloths onto the floor to examine it and then attached it to the head of her mop ready to be used for cleaning.

"So let's see what this thing can do…" she said.

She secured the cloth by pushing each of the four corners into holes in the mop head designed to grip the cleaning material.

The video showed her pushing the mop across the floor to clean up.

"And moment of truth…not bad," she said.

The content creator was delighted that the mop worked, showing the camera the gray, dirty color of the previously-white cloth after being used to mop the floor.

She then detached the dirty cloth from the mop and threw it away, saying: "Just pull out the edges and toss it in the trash."

The video ended with the bargain hunter recommending another type of mop head, which she also picked up at the Dollar Store.

"I also picked up a few of these for bigger messes and so far I'm really impressed," she said.

J. Schims recommended using these textured fabric mop heads for bigger cleaning jobs.
