IF you've ever tried giving a room in your house a makeover, you'll know it always ends up costing way more than you think.
But one savvy mum-of-five has proven that you haven't got to splash the cash to make a huge difference inside the home.
Rachelle Knowles has been inundated with praise after revealing how she transformed her council house kitchen on a budget – using bargain buys from the likes of B&M and Poundland.
In a clip shared on TikTok, she begins by showing photos of the kitchen before the stylish makeover, with the black countertops all peeling off and the oak cupboards in desperate need of a modern update.
She then explained how she applied d-c-fix 'Ribbeck Oak' vinyl to the countertops, which can be purchased for as little as £6.70 from The Range, and used white stick on tiles from Poundland for the walls.
She painted the kitchen cupboards with Rust-Oleum washable Matt furniture paint and completed the look by applying LED lights from B&M under the top cupboards.
