I left my teaching job to take my side hustle full time – I now help millions achieve their goals | The Sun

A TEACHER was able to quit his job after his side hustle took off – and now helps millions with their nutrition goals and improving their lifestyle habits.

TikTok favourite Fraser Reynolds began his career ten years ago were he joined as a PE teacher at his old high school Bannockburn Academy near Stirling.

But despite enjoying working with young people, the 32-year-old found it difficult to get onboard with the school curriculum.

He felt pupils were judged on their physical ability rather than helping young people become inspired and empowered by health and wellbeing.

Fraser told the Scottish Sun Online: "As a teacher I felt the curriculum was not as impactful as it could be.

"The class sizes are huge and kids are being judged in both the social arena and their physical capability.

"If kids are turned off by P.E. it is a spiral, they can go down a route of losing confidence and self-esteem, then in later life need to fork out for a nutrition coach and personal trainer."

Fraser left the teaching profession and went on to set-up a local CrossFit gym before spending time managing a gym in Australia.

He also spent time developing his own health literacy programme for young people to make training more accessible.

He continued: "PE classes are too big, how you meant to differential between pupils needs, it is so difficult.

"When I left teaching, I put together programmes for young people where can focus on outdoors, it was more geared to run, jump and climbing and other ways ways to stay fit."

After a period of travelling, the fitness fanatic returned to Scotland just before the pandemic.

Fraser went back to teaching during the Covid restrictions but at the same time began to put more time into dabbling in online content creation.

And by making filming himself making easy to follow, healthy recipes from his mum's kitchen, Fraser has since amassed over 1.5million followers across social media platforms, making his mark as a global nutrition expert.

Fraser – who also livestreams mass cook-a-longs with his followers – says he is now able to help and inspire thousands thanks to social media.

Through his coaching platform In and Out, Fraser is able to help people manage their fitness goals across the world.

He added: "I have built a platform here I have over 260 clients I can work with in a week by week basis taking in a more holistic approach.

"We are moving beyond 'the move more, eat less' – it is about to thinking about other factors to staying well. Yoga, breathwork and mindfulness all come into play – as well as home workouts people can try out."

And Fraser's first book Tasty High Protein raced up the Amazon Movers and Shakers chart, coming straight in at Number 1.
