I nabbed two trolley-loads of cheap Yankee sets…I'm sorted for birthdays & Christmas & don't care if you call me selfish | The Sun

A BARGAIN hunter has revealed that she nabbed two trolley-loads of cut-price Yankee gift sets from Boots.

Esther Riddell was left open-mouthed when shopping in her local Boots, when she spotted the heavily reduced Yankee candle sets.

As a result, Esther made sure to stock up on a mega haul and explained that she is now sorted for birthdays and Christmas for the year.

Esther took to Facebook, sharing a picture of her bargain buys.

She posted her epic purchase in the private group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, which has 2.2million members.

Esther’s car boot was already full up of the sets and she still had two trolley-loads to somehow fit in her vehicle.

Esther explained: “Managed to find some of these today.

“That’s birthdays and Christmas done for this year.”

However, Esther later added that she wouldn’t be keeping all of the sets for herself, as she noted: “Also using some for the fundraising I do for rescued dogs in Spain.

“I have 2 Spanish Water Dogs myself I rescued so it’s a very deserving cause.

“Down to £15 in Boots.”

The Yankee sets were in the Boots 50% off sale and were reduced from £30 to just £15.

The gift sets contain two big candles and six small candles.

Esther shared her post just 11 hours ago, but it has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly amassed 680 likes and 163 comments.

However, social media users were left divided at Esther’s large purchase – while some congratulated her on her cheap finds, others thought she was selfish for buying so many.

One person said: “Well done on your bargain.”

Another added: “Aww awesome! What a lovely thing to do! Hope you can make lots of money for those gorgeous dogs!”

A third commented: “Good on you if you snooze you loose.”

Meanwhile, someone else posted: “So tht selfish g** bought them all.”

Whilst another chimed in: “Glad to see you left some.”

However, one person noted: “Well done and personally I don't think you should have to explain why you bought so many it's got nothing to do with anyone else.”

To this, Esther responded: “It is an extreme bargain page, why should I only have to take a picture of one box.

“If folks can’t handle seeing others find great bargains then they shouldn’t be in here or make judgements on others' finds.

“Yes I’m delighted with my finds. I don't find bargains like this too often but when I do I want to share with like minded people who are happy for me and vice versa.

“I couldn’t care if someone goes out tomorrow and finds 20 boxes of these and posts them. Good luck to them.

“I would be happy that it’s going to save someone a load of money in the long run and well done to them for going out there and finding them.

“It’s great to see other folks' lucky finds. Well it is to me anyway but I guess there will be the odd one or two no matter what will have something negative to say.”
