A WOMAN has shared her three simple hacks to stop spiders and slugs from coming into your home.
So if you are fed up with constantly finding creepy crawlies in your home, and need quick, easy and safe ways to deter them from entering, you’ve come to the right place.
Posting on social media, the cleaning fan revealed her top tips: "These work great for me!! Always notice a difference.
She said: “If you live in the UK you'll know that we are [in] Spider Month, which is September and if you are anything like me and can't send bugs or spiders coming into your house, here are a few hacks for you."
Essential oil spray
“Number one is grab any old spray bottle and pop some tea tree essential oil in there. Peppermint is also amazing for this. These two are the scents that spiders hate the most.
“I spray this around the window frames and door frames and also on any soft furnishings, just to help deter them from coming inside through your windows and doors.

Salt barrier
“This next one is a slug hack. Popping salt around the door frame just means that slugs will avoid the area, or they won't be able to get in through the bottom of your door.”
As for why salt is so effective at getting rid of slugs, Dr Gordon Port, senior lecturer at Newcastle University explained how salt acts as a snail and slug's kryptonite by dehydrating its slimy exterior.
He told Science Focus: “Salt essentially draws the water out of their skin – an osmosis effect – and they die within minutes of dehydration."
Essential oil mop hack
The final hack involves using essential oils in your mop, as the social media user continued: “Again with a tea tree or peppermint, pop this into your mop.
