I tried MAC's Locked Kiss Ink to see if it can last 24 hours | The Sun

MAC has launched its Locked Kiss Ink and which claims to stay on for 24 hours, so we put it to the test to see if it did just that.

There are 32 shades to choose from and each one claims that it won't budge after it's been applied. The dream right?

We tried Mischief, a beautiful pinky nude that mimics a healthy lip colour and works as well on its own as with a full face of makeup.

All the shades are matte, and we were a little hesitant that this texture might lead to them being drying or flaky because we'd tried some other super matte products from MAC in the past that were exactly that.

But after applying with the precision, doe foot applicator that's great for lining the lips if you don't have a pencil to hand, our worries were set aside because the liquid formula felt airy and weightless when settling on to lips.

Basically, it feels very comfortable to wear – you won't find any stickiness of tightness like you might with other long lasting formulas.

The colour itself is highly pigmented meaning you don't need to layer and layer and layer to get the payoff you're looking for.

All of this is wonderful and crucial to any good lipstick, but the big question is: does it actually stay put?

KIDDING ME?

I’ve put my 18-month-old in nursery… people say he’s too young, I need a break

The short answer is yes; it really does.

We put Mischief on in the morning and kept an eye on whether it budged throughout breakfast, lunch, drinks and dinner we can confirm that it really didn't move.

I drank multiple cups of tea which I find are normally the nemeses of lipsticks and the colour stayed put.

Then, for dinner, I really put it through it's paces with a pizza and, although I noticed it faded very slightly, I didn't need to top up.

The colour, although slightly faded, wasn't patchy and still felt comfortable to wear although if your prefer a little more hydration than matte lipsticks can offer, just layer a lip balm or lip oil on top.

We even wore this in the gym and can attest to the fact this is fully sweat proof as well as water proof, kiss proof and transfer proof.

Each tube costs £28 and we reckon that's a pretty good deal, seeing as there's no need to top up once the product is on.

And don't worry about stains when you're trying to get Locked Kiss Ink off because a little makeup remover will do the trick beautifully.

With 32 gorgeous colours, an applicator that negates the need for any separate tools and a formula that lasts and lasts and lasts, we're completely sold.
