A DIY fan has taken to social media to reveal how she made her very own side table, using bargain buys from IKEA.
Melissa Faulkner (@colourfulmelissa) shared a clip on TikTok, showing off her DIY side table that she made for just £27.
She shared her video with the caption ‘First IKEA hack of 2023’ and at the start of the clip, we saw Melissa in IKEA, as she bagged her supplies.
She said: “This is my first IKEA hack of 2023 and I promise you, it is an absolutely amazing one, or at least I think so.”
Melissa filmed herself shopping in her local IKEA, as she picked up the three items needed to create the side table, one of which included a plant pot.
Shortly after, Melissa arrived home and got to work on her DIY project.

We first saw her apply glue around the top of the plant pot.
Following this, she stuck down a wooden-look tray, around the pot, to cover it.
Once this was stuck on, she applied glue to the top of the tray and then stuck down the top of the table.
The table was made but to finish it off, she gave the entire thing a coat of paint, so it would match the interior of her bedroom.
