A HERBALIST has shared her secret to staying forever young.
She described it as nature's Botox and could reverse the aging process.
But there was no skincare or invasive practices in her beauty tip.
Her wrinkle-free approach came in the humble form of a cup of tea.
“This tea is basically nature’s Botox," said Anya Levi Wellness (@anyaleviwellness).
She has 197,000 followers on her TikTok, where she shares her knowledge on the healthy benefits of herbs and plants.
In this post, Anya laid out the benefits of this drink from the hibiscus tree.
The plant originates in North Africa and South East Asia, where it is used as food and medicine.
Anya made a bold assertion in her video: “Want to slow down aging? Drink this tea."
She reasoned why hibiscus tea could help: “It’s packed with antioxidants which help our bodies fight free radicals.

"[These] cause cell damage, which then causes aging."
But that wasn't all this tea could offer, according to Anya. There were other health benefits.
“It may help lower blood pressure, lower blood fat levels, boost liver health, and promote weight loss."
And there was even more: “[It] improves brain function and boosts energy levels."
There was some confirmation of her assertions from Medical News Today, that quoted research from other studies:
They said: "Historically, hibiscus tea has been used in African countries to decrease body temperature and treat heart disease.
"Recent studies have looked at the possible role of hibiscus in the treatment of high blood pressure and high cholesterol."
They continued: "Some studies have demonstrated positive effects when examining the effects of concentrated hibiscus on managing body weight."
There was no mention from this source of the age-defiant properties of hibiscus tea.
But they did advise caution when consuming it: Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not drink hibiscus tea."
