HAVE you ever ordered something online, only for it to turn up and look completely different to what you expected?
Well, it turns out the same thing can happen with dogs.
A woman who goes by the TikTok handle @normthehousehippo, explained how she thought she was fostering a 'Pit mix,' only to realise she'd adopted a different breed entirely.
In a clip shared online, she shares an adorable snap of her four-legged pooch named Norm as a puppy and pens: "When you foster a skinny Pit Mix with big paws…but he doesn't stop growing."
She then posts footage of her beloved dog as the weeks pass, and he can slowly be seen getting bigger and bigger until he weighs a whopping 140lbs.
"…and you realise you actually adopted a giant breed dog by accident," she quips.

She went onto admit that she didn't do research on the breeder because she adopted Norm because he was a stray.
But determined to get to the bottom of his humongous growth spurt, she sent Norm off for a DNA test – and the results came back that he's 100% Cane Corso.
Cane Corso's are large-boned, muscular working dogs and one of many Mastiff-type pooches.
The pet owner captioned the post: "He was supposed to be a Pit mix #fosterfail #surprisesurprise #rescuebreed."

It wasn't long before the video went viral, racking up thousands of views and endless comments – with many sharing their own similar experiences.
"That happened to me haha I adopted a 'Pit mix' and he was actually a Bull Mastiff – was supposed to weigh 45lbs but ended up 165lbs," one wrote.
Norm's owner replied: "We have almost the same story!"
A second recalled: "We adopted a 'Pit Bill' and guess who now has an Italian Mastiff that's bigger than me."
A third noted: "Cane Corso's are not a common breed and they can look similar to a Dane. People make mistakes."
The social media user responded: "Absolutely! I thought he had pit and Dane in him before DNA testing!"
Meanwhile, a fourth wrote: "Pretty sure that's a Cane Corso. GORGEOUS dogs, really expensive in the UK."
The TikTok user replied: "Correct! You probably are used to seeing the breed with natural ears in the UK?"
Elsewhere, another quipped: "The paws never lie."
