I was fed up with my lack of laundry drying space so invented a hack to double the room I have, but not everyone’s a fan | The Sun

IF your washing line is too small for all your clothes, there may be a trick you can try.

A creative Reddit user shared their "genius" solution to not having enough drying space in your garden.

They uploaded a snap showing how you should peg your laundry to other drying items, to double your space.

They showed how they hung T-shirts on the line, and then pegged another T-shirt onto the bottom of the garment.

The person wrote on their post: “Does anyone else hang laundry off laundry when drying out?

“I have limited space so this is the only way I can hang it out.”

Instead of being able to dry just five items in their small garden, they were able to dry 11 pieces of clothing instead.

The post has racked up over 100 comments since it was posted, and people had a mixed reaction to the space-utilising hack.

Some people praised the idea, with one saying: “Clever.”

A second wrote: “That's genius, I've never thought of that before.”

Others suggested ways to improve his trick, with one suggesting: “If you'd put your things on hangers, then put them on the line, the space you'll find will amaze you.

“Pro tip – on w windy day, pin the hangers to the line too keep the from sliding together.. (steel hanger rust, Wood hangers are too precious, so I use plastic.)”

However, not everyone was sold on the idea.

One wrote: “No, it’d stretch my laundry too much.”

Others told the person to just go and buy a clothing rack instead.
