A MAKEUP artist has revealed her top three tricks to help you look 10 years younger.
Lauren Hale, an influencer with more than 176,000 followers on Instagram, offers "makeup tips for mature skin" on her social media pages.
The beauty expert, who goes by @laurenlhale on both Instagram and TikTok, prides herself in offering "makeup tips for mature skin."
She describes herself as someone who teaches "easy makeup tips for aging skin," while insisting "the ’40s are the NEW 20s."
This week, Lauren took to Good Morning America to share her top three hacks for mature skin: Use cream-based concealers to hide wrinkles, use a dense brush to put on eyeshadow, and place contour higher on the face for a cheekbone lift.
"It just takes little tweaks to your makeup application to get a more youthful appearance," Lauren says in a GMA tutorial video.
"So as we age, because contour is going to provide that natural shadow to our face … putting it too low on our face makes us look even older."

Lauren advises placing your contour higher on your cheekbone because "we lose that fullness in our face."
Secondly, Lauren recommends that anyone over the age of 40 use a cream-based product under the eyes because creams "soften the appearance of fine lines and winkles."
She also suggests makeup users refrain from applying concealer in the shape of an upside-down triangle under the eyes.
"It brings out the fine lines and wrinkles because light attracts light," Lauren explains.

Instead, she advises using less concealer and simply applying the product below the inner and outer corners of the eye.
As Lauren is seen putting concealer on a model in the correct way, she says: "And you're just going to bring that up on the outer point up to your hairline.
"I know it looks funny, but I know it's going to give a really nice lifted appearance."
Lastly, Lauren advises using a makeup brush with dense bristles to smoothly apply eyeshadow.
She explains: "We get a lot of moveable skin on our lid space.
"So that when we go in, and back and forth in this kind of motion, you're actually pulling that loose skin on your eye and you're fighting it."
To get a "nice smooth finish on your eyelids" Lauren says you should pull the skin down as you apply.
Last month, Lauren posted a video on Instagram for anyone suffering from droopy eyelids.
She suggests applying a light color over your lid, "pulling up on your brow bone to find a crease and place a medium matte color along the brow bone," and highlighting "under the brow bone and clean up your eyeshadow for a clean and lifted look."
Lauren urges anyone over the age of 40 to never apply dark shadow on your lids, refrain from guessing where your crease is or apply it too low, and do not add shimmer to textured lids.

Meanwhile, a cosmetic chemist explained on TikTok that keeping your makeup brushes in a pot could cause you more skin issues.
She said: "You know your desk? How often do you clean it because it's full of dust? I have to do it every day."
And the expert said the same goes for your makeup brushes as the dust is falling on them too, which will likely cause a breakout.
