A BRA fit expert has issued her three rules for cleaning lingerie, which she says will make the underwear last longer and save loads.
While hand washing is best, she admitted she doesn't make time for that, but her tips keep her bras in good shape.
“Have you washed yours lately?” asked Madison Anne,(@madisonanneh), who is known as "the bra lady" to her 1.2 million followers on her TikTok.
In this post, she tackled the most effective way of getting clean bras.
“One of the best ways to make sure that your bras are going to last a long time is making sure that we wash them properly," she said.
But first, there were three things to remember when washing your bras.
“One is that you always hook them. Two is that you always use cold water. And three is that you never tumble dry them."
Following these three easy-to-follow rules should make all the difference to keeping your chest support fit for purpose for a greater period of time.
“Doing these three things are going to make sure that the integrity is going to remain, that they’re going to maintain their shape, and that they’re going to fit you better for longer.
Ideally, hand washing bras was best, said Madison, but not everybody was going to do that.

“So let’s talk about how to wash them in the washing machine.
“If you’re washing bras that have hooks, make sure that you hook them before you put them in.
“We’re going to put them in a lingerie bag. If you don’t have one, you can just use a pillowcase with a hair tie."
Don't forget to take out removable cups before loading the washing machine.
Then put it on the gentlest cycle: "Mine is handwash. Use that and then make sure you move it to cold."
Once the wash was finished either hang them out or lay them flat to dry.
But do not tumble dry, warned Madison. And then try to do this every one to two weeks or every three or four, she said in conclusion.
