I’m a bride-to-be – my fiancé’s friend sent me a crazy message before the wedding but he thinks I’m overreacting | The Sun

WEDDINGS are said to be a great a place to meet someone.

In this case, a member of the wedding party had her eyes on one man in particular: the groom.

A Reddit user shared her experience dealing with her fiancé's overbearing female best friend.

In her post, the bride-to-be detailed how her partner had asked his female friend to serve as a "grooms woman" on their big day.

"I'm not the person who gets jealous over my partner being friends with the opposite gender," the original poster explained.

She continued: "[My fiancé's] female best friend, Rachel, has always been in competition with me regarding who's more important and a bigger priority to my fiancé."

The Reddit user went on to explain how her fiancé finally stood up to Rachel following a short break in the couple's relationship.

"After we reconciled he realized the importance of boundaries and set hard boundaries with her," she said.

The bride went on to detail the frenemy relationship she has with Rachel.

"I know that whenever she sees me, or hears about me, she's not happy but we act kind to each other despite our actual feelings," she told readers.

After the couple's engagement, the original poster said: "Rachel didn't congratulate us at all and completely overlooked our entire engagement, and kept referring to me as my fiancé's 'girlfriend'."

After the Reddit user's fiancé asked Rachel to join the wedding party she sent a ridiculous message to the bride.

"Just so you know, your fiancé and I are still each other's priority. You may marry him but right know he picked me as a grooms woman, knowing how that would bother you, because he cares about not hurting my feelings more than your feelings," Rachel said in her message.

Rachel warned the bride to "stay in your lane and accept your place," because she was "not going anywhere."

After showing the message to her fiancé, the original poster said: "I told him 'I've had enough' and that the only solution I'm accepting is proper consequences for her actions. That means she's either dropped as a grooms woman or uninvited."

"He said what I'm doing is very unfair because he is not responsible for her actions, and feels like I'm putting unnecessary responsibility and pressure on him," the Reddit user explained.

However, an update to the post detailed how the groom made the decision to uninvite Rachel from the wedding and distance himself from her.

Reddit users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the situation.

"100% Rachel is definitely the type to make a big scene if she is invited, or crash the wedding is she isn't. That text is absolutely pathetic," wrote one reader about the nightmare wedding story.
