But one woman named Kate Beshy has proved that you haven't got to break the bank to look good on your wedding day – as she looked the picture of elegance in a bargain gown she snapped up from ASOS.
Rather than splashing out on a designer frock, the budget bride opted for the 'ASOS EDITION Curve Layne satin square neck wedding dress with train in ivory.'
And at just £156, Kate managed to save herself thousands.
In a post shared to TikTok, she says: "My reception dress."
The beautiful bride can then be seen wearing the stunning, sleeveless style gown which features a super flattering square neck and train hem – and is the perfect choice for a bride on a budget.

So it's no wonder the post quickly went viral, racking up over 121k views and several comments from fashion fans up and down the country.
While some praised the dress for being "classy," others told how they were totally "obsessed" with Kate's bridal look.
