I’m a chocolate expert & you’re opening your Easter Eggs wrong – here’s how to get perfect pieces without making a mess | The Sun

AN EXPERT has shared the right way of enjoying your chocolate eggs this Easter to avoid a mess everywhere.

Easter is all about chocolate, so if you're the kind of person to eagerly rip off the packaging before smashing the sweet egg, we don't blame you.

But according to one guru, Karen Owen, Chief Taster and Chocolatier at Wickedly Welsh, there's a way to devour this delicious treat in a less messy way.

Chatting to The Express, Karen explained that instead of going wild, you should be applying pressure to the weakest part of the egg – usually, this is on the side where the halves are joined together.

The expert said: "Obviously, the harder you tap it on the surface, the easier it will break – but unless you want lots of chocolate flying around, don't go too hard. Start more gently and build up to it.

"That being said, it really does depend on what type of Easter egg you have as not all of them are entirely hollow."

If your chocolate confectionery is filled, smashing it could even ruin the filling inside.

In such cases Karen recommended to tap on the hollow side towards the top of the egg and not too close to the seams.

This may prove a little messier, she warned, but you will be less likely to damage the egg and its contents.

For those wondering how to store their Easter eggs, the expert advised to keep the foil rather than chucking it away.

The sweet treat should then be kept in room temperature instead of store in the fridge, as the cooler temperatures may affect the taste of the egg.

Why don't you try out this easy recipe for an Easter pudding using air fryer?

A snack-loving TikTok user has shared his epic seven-minute air fryer recipe.

It’s the easiest dessert ever – all you need is a few hot cross buns, some mini eggs and some custard.

Simple chef Caught Snackin’ shared his video online, and it’s racked up almost half a million views – so it must be a pretty tasty treat.

The video begins with the user roughly cutting hot cross buns into quarters.

“Bake this three ingredient Easter dessert,” he states. “All you need is hot cross buns, custard and mini eggs.

“Slap in the air fryer and voila.”

After cutting his hot cross buns, he piles up the pieces in an air fryer bowl and pours a big jug of pre-prepared thick custard over the top.

With the buns completely covered in custard, he drops a few handfuls of mini eggs on top.

Preparation complete, he puts the bowl in his air fryer and cooks at 180 degrees for seven minutes.

Once the dessert is cooked, he reveals the finished product: A sizzling bowl of chocolatey goodness with crisp golden hot cross bun pieces and mouth-watering melted mini eggs.

It’s no surprise that everyone’s gagging to try the sugary treat.

One user replied: “Cor that does look good.”

A second agreed: “This looks yum.”

Some followers had their own suggestions to make the snacker’s treat even more delicious.

“If there were enough mini eggs that would be great,” chimed a chocoholic.
