THEY are things we’ve been taught to do for years, but a cleaning expert has shared how many common practices are failing to reach the mark.
Cleaning pro Jill Comes Clean said that she sees people making three major mistakes when doing their household chores – but the good news is that they’re easily fixable.
Jill, whose TikTok profile is @jillcomesclean, uploaded a video going through the errors, as she asked her 192,000 followers: “Are you guilty of any?”
The cleaning expert then shared how the first mistake is made while people are hoovering.
She explained that many people forget to empty their hoover after use – which could be having big consequences when it comes to their device’s effectiveness.
Jill explained: “If a vacuum is even two thirds full, it doesn’t work as well.

The next glaring error is to spray cleaner directly onto electronics and then using a paper towels to rub in the liquid to attempt to clean it.
Jill continued: “The clean and wood fibres from paper towels can cause damage.”
Instead Jill said to “opt for a microfiber cloth instead” as it’s gentler and will do the job better.
