TikTok page Latest Deals has rounded up the top ten ways to beat the cost of living crisis during your food shop – and the results are surprising.
According to Latest Deals, we should avoid Aldi for potatoes and instead visit a pricier high street store to spend less.
The video begins with one of our favourite cupboard staples: baked beans.
“Lidl’s beans are the cheapest at any supermarket at 26p,” they reveal.

M&S might not be your idea of a budget supermarket, but in the last year they’ve dropped their prices and introduced their own value range of meat, vegetables and cupboard items which compete with top stores like Tesco, Aldi and Lidl.
Next up is the iconic lasagne ready meal – just 90p at Asda.
Meanwhile the best shop for carrots is Tesco, who charge 50p for 1 kg – that’s 6p cheaper than Aldi.

Another cupboard staple, chicken soup, is just 24p at Asda.
But Aldi does have a few wins up its sleeve.
“Cheese and tomato pizzas are 75p at Aldi and Aldi spaghetti hoops are just 16p,” the narrator continues.
Followers were stunned by the bargains on offer and rushed to comment on the clip with their own discoveries.
“Please do more of these,” pleaded one grateful user.
“Lidl beans are so good,” exclaimed a second.
“I bought a pack of Custard creams at Sainsburys for 30p – mad,” claimed a third.
A final follower revealed: “If anyone wants to know, they have stuffed crust pizza at Tesco for £1.50 and it’s really good.”
