I'm a fashion expert – here's the 4-in-1 travel outfit that will take you from airport to beach…and it costs just £5 | The Sun

A FASHION guru has shared her 4-in-1 travel outfit that takes you from the airport to the beach.

Lori Bergamotto, the former style director for Good Housekeeping in the US, revealed the genius ways in which you can wear a simple sarong on holiday.

Appearing on Good Morning America, the style expert spoke to host Lara Spencer about the versatile piece of fabric.

The first tip she gave viewers is on shopping for a sarong as she explained the shape should be rectangular instead of square, which allows you to “manoeuvre your sarong in a lot of different ways”.

Lori then revealed the first model, who wore a sarong in the style of a jumpsuit.

“You want to hold this [the sarong] vertically, tie it around your top and then pick up the long pieces of fabric and feed it through your legs before wrapping it around your waist to secure it around your front,” she said.

Admitting that this particular look is more suited for a trip to the beach, Lori said you should wear a swimsuit underneath for more coverage.

The next model donned the sarong as a halterneck summer dress, which Lori said was “so easy” to do.

A video of her showed how the fabric was first wrapped around her waist before bringing two long straps up to be tied around her neck.

Lori said: “That’s the thing too, these looks take about 10 seconds to do.”

A third model donned the sarong as a skirt, which Lori said was a look for a “sunset cocktail” event.

She explained that while you can do this as a look for the beach, this way of wearing the skirt is “elevated” fashion.

“We popped on the white shirt, popped the collar, added in some gold accessories,” she described. “Again, simplicity, then you can wrap it around the waist and kind of pull the knot to wherever suits your body.”

The final look was for a “big night out on the town” as a model walked out with the sarong worn as a strapless top.

Lori said: “It’s important to wrap it like you would a bandage and this one also requires one extra accessory: a handy safety pin.

“This is to make sure it’s secure in the back as well as the front so that we have no wardrobe malfunctions.

Sarongs can be found on Amazon, Boohoo, Missguided, Sports Direct and New Look for as little as £5.

With so much choice on what to pack for a holiday abroad, a sarong is an essential that creates many looks without taking up too much space in the suitcase.
