A GARDENING pro has revealed a super easy way to fill your flowerbeds and plant pots on the cheap – and all you’ll need is a quick trip to the supermarket.
Martha suggested keen gardeners stock up on cheap mint plants, which can be used to grow your own endless supply.
And you won’t need to rebuy one every year, as Martha claims, due to the fact that it’s a perennial plant, your mint will die off in the winter before reappearing in the spring.
Martha said: “Did you know you can grow loads of mint plants at home using just one packet of mint from the supermarket?
“And you mostly only need the stem, so you can still use the leaves for whatever recipe you had in mind.
“Once you strip most of the leaves off, leaving just the tips on, you just cut the bottoms off of your mint and pop them into a glass of water.

“Now the most important thing to know about mint is that it is incredibly invasive, so don’t put it straight in your garden.
“Put it in a pot, otherwise it will pop up everywhere – and believe me, from experience, it’s very difficult to get rid of.
“Mint isn’t fussy and it will grow in pretty much any soil, so this is just a mix of garden soil and a bit of compost, but as long as it’s not too soggy, it will be fine.
