A MIDWIFE has revealed the five things she'd always do during childbirth.
Emily, who is from the UK, shared a video to TikTok and begins by explaining how she'd never tell anybody when she's going into labour, having an induction or planned c-section – whatever the method may be.
"All of that stress and text messaging that you get from all of your family and friends is just not good vibes, not good energy," she says.
Is the baby here yet? No – you will see the baby when the baby is here. Done!"
Emily goes on to say how she's also likely to stay as active as possible in the pregnancy – just to avoid all of those aches and pains pregnancy can cause.
"Lots of antenatal classes, yoga, pilates – stretching regularly," she says. "Invest in a really good pregnancy pillow early and then when the time's right, 36 weeks on, lots of dates and raspberry leaf tea.
All of those good things!"

The midwife then moves onto number three which she admits may sound controversial.
"I would probably decline/reduce all of my vaginal examinations just because if I'm progressing, you'll know that I'm progressing," Emily explains.

"And sometimes I just think vaginal examinations can affect the whole oxytocin mood – knowing numbers actually doesn't mean too much unless things aren't going well."
Moving onto number four, Emily says she'd never find out the gender.

"Couples that don't find out the gender of their baby – although every birth is absolutely magical – when that baby is born and you hear that first cry, it's so special when your partner gets to find out the gender and tell the birth person what the gender is."
"It's literally the most magical moment ever and that's all Iwant in life."
Finally, the midwife says that as soon as her baby is born, she'd want to be left alone with just her baby and partner for at least an hour.
"No weighing, no vitamin K, no top-to-toe checks, just completely leave us alone to breastfeed and enjoy our new baby – that golden hour," she says.
