DO you struggle to get your baby to sleep without them being held?

TikTok mum @jessica.j.crisp uploaded a video showing how the key to success may be to use a blanket.

She wrote: “Mum hack! If your newborn won’t settle without being held…roll a blanket and position it like a pregnancy pillow.

“I like to set up close surveillance, lol.”

She joked in the caption: “Gives me time to fold the days old laundry mountain.”

Many people were quick to take to the comments to share their thoughts on the hack, and many seemed keen to try.

Some raised concerns as to whether the blanket hack is safe or not.

A TikTok user commented: “Cute but unfortunately isn’t recommended as safe sleep even tho there’s a camera it’s still not recommended.”

However, one replied: “course this is safe if you are watching them! good for tummy ache.”

The NHS advises that you can reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), or cot death, by placing your baby on their back to sleep in a cot in the same room as you, for the first 6 months.

The website adds: “Keep your baby's head uncovered – their blanket should be tucked in no higher than their shoulders.

“If wearing your baby in a sling or carrier, do not cover their head with the sling material or with a muslin.”
