A PROFESSIONAL cleaner has revealed her top six tips for keeping the home in order.
She shared her tidying tips, including avoiding certain decor to promote cleanliness.
Essex-based domestic cleaner Mrs. Finch (@cleansbymrsfinch) shared several examples in a video on TikTok.
First, she urged viewers to pay attention to the types of tiles they use in the home.
Describing a photo of tiles with ridged design, she said: "Tiny little tiles, they look lovely, I really like this picture, but they're so tiny and intricate that trying to get them clean just takes a long time.
"The same for texture tiles, because of the texture, dirt seems to get in there and it's really hard to get them out. I use toothbrushes, but still, it's a nightmare," she added.
Next, she recommended keeping the space minimally decorated to keep it clean.
"This one's for like lots of ornaments and clutter, if you want to call it that. Again, they look lovely, but keeping it dust free is a nightmare," she said.
She also recommended keeping Legos tucked away to keep them clean.
"Lego is the bane of my life in my clients' houses. I have some that collect it and they look great, but they gather dust and it's so hard to clean without breaking them," she said.

For the kitchen area, she recommended thinking twice before choosing stainless steel.
"I really don't like stainless steel and we're going to replace it with tile sinks. They're just much easier to keep clean and smear-free," she said.
She also added that glass staircases may hold onto unsightly blemishes.
"Glass staircases look lovely, but they show every hand print, every smear, and they gather dust really quickly and they're really hard to keep clean," she said.
Finally, she listed a common culprit for messy homes to avoid.
"Lastly, is kids. I wouldn't recommend them having them in house if you're going to try and keep it clean," she joked. "I've given up now."
