Luckily Mitch Lane has made it his mission to show how creative you can get on a £5 budget.
And his simple cajun-spiced skewers are ideal for busy families that a quick dinner on the barbeque, now the weather’s finally warming up.

During the short reel, Mitch shares a glimpse at the four ingredients needed for this simple recipe, including red onions, peppers, pork steaks, and cajun seasoning.
He also shared a glimpse at his Aldi receipt, revealing that everything came to just £4.99, with more than enough to feed his family of five.
The savvy cook then went on to share how he threw the easy dinner together in under 20 minutes, adding: “So into a bowl, two peppers, two red onions, four pork steaks cut up into chunks.

“Salt and black pepper to your own taste, two tablespoons of cajun, and two tablespoons of olive oil.
“Don’t be afraid to get your hands in there now, just message all that seasoning into the meat and veggies.
“Skewer it all up now. Try to make a pretty pattern if you can.
“If you’re using wooden skewers, soak them in some cold water before using – just stop them catching fire on the barbecue.
“Flame grill these now, eight to ten minutes, turning regularly.
“Look at the state of these.”
