I’m a size 22 & flying can be a nightmare – the trays dig in & don’t get me started on people who put their seats back | The Sun

A WOMAN has revealed the trials and tribulations of travelling as a size 22.

Becky regularly flies, and has tested out the seats on airlines including British Airways and EasyJet to see how plus-size friendly they are.

Her latest experiment was with Tui, as she and her family flew out to Ibiza.

"This time we were allocated row 23 for our family and I took the aisle seat," she said in a video on her TikTok page.

"My first test is always the tray table – does it open and fully extend? I'm a UK size 20 to 22."

"It did fully open, however there wasn't any room for movement," she added, showing how it dug into her stomach.

Becky noted that it was "even worse" when the person in front of her put their seat back.

"Drives me mad how selfish… it's only a two-hour flight!" she raged.

Continuing her review, Becky said: "The seatbelt did do up and there was room to spare.

"I do carry most of my weight around the middle."

The comments section was immediately filled with people sharing their own plus-size travelling experiences.

"I travelled on easyJet 6 times in the last 7 weeks," one wrote.

"I asked for an extender each time, and I’m 28st, only issue I had was leg room. Quite happy."

"I went with Ryanair to Ibiza a few weeks ago," another added.

"I’m a size 18-20. On the outbound flight the seatbelt was fine but inbound it only just went around me."

"So random isn't it," Becky replied.

"I was told they get shorter as they fray and have to be cut."

"Thank you for your video. I’m a size 22 and go to Kos with Tui a week on Wednesday," a third commented.

"I'm so anxious about the seatbelt".

"I'm a UK 22/24 and flew this year with Tui," someone else wrote.

"I booked extra legroom – tray opened no problem and could do up seatbelt."
