FOOD shopping can be expensive, and many families are tightening the purse strings when it comes to their budgets.
One money-saving mum has revealed how she makes 70 meals for her family for just £20.
All US-based Julia Pacheto does is buys just 20 supermarket ingredients, and this makes all of her cheap recipes.
The seven meals are Creamy Tomato Pasta, Black Bean Sweet Potato Hash, Potato Hotdog Skillet, Hearty Potato Lentil Soup, Creamy Pasta & Vegetables, Lentil Enchiladas and Tuna Macaroni & Cheese.
She also manages to make a Breakfast Sausage & Potato Casserole with her budget food shop.
In a YouTube video, she said: “When you're at the end of your grocery budget, and don't have much left, it might be overwhelming to try to make a lot of meals out of a few inexpensive ingredients. I know, I've been there!

After stirring while it simmers for 10 minutes, it will be ready to serve with parmesan cheese.

She makes enough for seven meals.
Next up was her Black Bean Sweet Potato Hash, which makes her six meals.
In the clip, she first cut up sweet and russet potatoes into small cubes.
Then she diced up part of an onion and added it to a pan with olive oil.
Then she added the potatoes, a half cup of water, seasoning to a pan, and then covered it and let it cook for 10 minutes.
Next she added black beans, frozen spinach and let this cook together for five minutes.
Julia added: “You’d be surprised how much protein comes from this recipe.
“You could easily add ingredients to make it your own.”
Julia shared the full recipes on her blog in an article called Extreme Budget Meal Plan.
