I’m plus-sized with stretch marks – my body’s a rock star, I pity trolls who hate me over my belly | The Sun

A MODEL told how she grew up hating her body but now loves it and realises that it’s a “rock star”.

Strawberry Belle, 30, was convinced she was obese when younger despite not being that big.

But now she’s come to appreciate her size 18 curves and feels sorry for the sick trolls who go out of their way to try and make others feel bad.

Strawberry said: “My body is a rock star and it deserves to be celebrated. I’ve never felt more confident, empowered and sexy.

“I grew up being very conscious of the fact that I was bigger than my friends. But looking back now I can see in reality I was so much smaller than I thought I was.

“I always felt like I had to apologise for my body which makes me so sad to think about now.”

Strawberry spent years not valuing herself or feeling comfortable in her own skin.

Growing up in the '90s she felt she was conditioned to believe that anything over a size ten was obese.

But after years of working on her self worth and body image she suddenly put on weight.

And instead of being horrified she just went with it it and was able to accept  her curves for what they were.

Strawberry, from Brighton, said: “I absolutely love my body now.

“Of course I’ll still have days where I don’t feel 100 percent confident. But it’s so much easier to move past now. I never thought I’d feel as confident with my body as I do now.

“Sometimes I have to remind myself how far I’ve come with my body image, because at one point I would have never believed this would be my life.”

Strawberry is now a full-time content creator and makes a living from how she looks.

She’s bombarded with comments from adoring fans who want to take her out on dates.

Alongside that she also has to deal with messages from sick, anonymous trolls.

Strawberry said: “I just feel sad for anyone who wastes their time criticising other people.

“Whether that’s strangers online or people in their real life, because they’re really only hurting themselves.”

Strawberry admitted she goes out of her way to get a rise out of the troll, and uses them as a way to publicise her content.

She added: “Trolls and getting hate online is inevitable when you’re a content creator.

“It doesn’t bother me at all. Their engagement  just pushes my content to more people so I embrace it.

“I’ll either ignore them or I’ll wind them up for fun. Sometimes my fans defend me which is sweet.

“I’ve learned that most of the time there’s no point in trying to educate trolls on why what they’re doing is harmful, so I don’t waste my energy.”
