Inside King Charles' traditional Royal Christmas after olive branch invite was snubbed by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry | The Sun

PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle are not set to join the Royal Family in their Christmas festivities this year due to one major reason, royal experts have claimed.

King Charles extended the olive branch last month, but royal experts strongly suspect it will be snubbed by the couple.

Royal biographer Angela Levin even went as far as to say the rest of the family will be relieved that the former royals won't attend.

She told The Sun: “The Queen’s death means that there won’t be as much pressure to have all of the family together – which is good because it seems Harry and Meghan won’t be present.

“I’m sure Catherine and William will be there by the King and Queen’s side for part of the holiday.

“Harry and Meghan aren't coming which I think will be a huge relief for the rest of the family.

Harry & Meghan’s row with royals named biggest national debate of the year

“The family will want to make it a very positive day after the Queen’s death and I think the Sussexes presence would most certainly dampen that.”

The main reason for Harry and Meghan's anticipated rejection is fear surrounding reactions to their Netflix docuseries.

In the series, due to be released on December 8, they will discuss other family members including King Charles, Camilla and Prince William.

It comes despite the duke and duchess reportedly requesting a delay to the £88million show until after Christmas.

Angela explained: “It's very interesting that they tried, especially harry, very very hard to get it out for after Christmas.

“It makes me feel that they could very well attack the monarchy again and be very nasty about the King despite the fact that he lost his mother.

"It’s been said that they’re not coming but it also I think on what the documentary is like whether or not they would be invited at all.

“It’s up the Sussexes on whether they want their children to know what their father’s family is like – but also it could be a case where the royals don’t want them there after the documentary.

“On one level it looks like Harry and Meghan want their kids to know – but on another they don’t.

“They want titles for them but they don’t want them to mix with the very people who can give them to them.

“Every time you think ‘they can’t get much worse’ they just do and I feel as if that is how the family is feeling also.”

Over in California, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have just celebrated another major holiday without the Royal Family.

The pair enjoyed a laid back Thanksgiving, while in past years the family spent the holiday with Meghan's mum, Doria Ragland, in their California mansion.

The couple usually enjoy a home cooked meal with traditional Thanksgiving dishes.

Last year a source told Elle they'd have a "quiet" home-cooked dinner using fresh vegetables from their garden.

This comes as King Charles' Windsor Castle Christmas decs have been revealed and fans spotted a hidden tribute to the Queen.

Standing at a whopping 20ft, the real pine Christmas tree will be sparkling with gold, purple and red ornaments dotted around twinkling lights.

Charles' late mother was known to wear the shade of purple and it was often said to be her favourite colour.

Waterloo chamber has also been transformed into a Winter Wonderland with wreaths and baubles strung up throughout.

The Grand Staircase could also be mistaken for the entrance to Santa's Grotto, with festive decorations wrapped all the way up the banisters.

It will be the Firm's first Christmas without the late monarch, who died in September.

But celebrations will reportedly be much "less formal" than usual.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told OK! there will be no bowing, curtsying or watching the King's likely pre-recorded TV address, making it a "less buttoned up" affair.

Members of the family normally spend the holiday period at Sandringham, Norfolk, and will do the same this year, Buckingham Palace confirmed.

And other Christmas traditions will so continue.

At the Prince and Princess of Wales' home, the family will partake in their slightly unusual routine.

Princes George and Louis along with Princess Charlotte will be unwrapping their gifts on Christmas Eve, exchanging the presents at teatime.

This is to pay homage to the Windsor's German heritage but also fits in nicely as the family have a busy schedule on Christmas Day.
