JULIANNE Hough’s daringly low-cut dresses offer up an illusion of cleavage for the DWTS co-host, a fashion psychologist has said.
She claimed the dance pro's style tactics are an effort to match up to bigger-busted celebrities who show off their curves in Hollywood.
Julianne, 35, shared photos on Instagram on October 12 wearing a plunging flowing black dress.
She danced to The Lion King's Circle of Life and recreated a scene with a puppy.
Fashion psychologist Professor Carolyn Mair, Ph.D., claimed Julianne has been “drawing attention to her boobs” but in a different way.
The Season 32 premiere of DWTS saw the host wear a silver shimmery dress.
Julianne also hit the stage in a low-cut black cowl neck dress in September.
Before now, the Footloose star wore a slashed-to-the-waist red outfit as well as a low-cut black dress in New York.
In an exclusive interview, Mair told The U.S. Sun: “Julianne is not very busty.
"She wears this style to create a space between her boobs and draw attention to them.

“If she had bigger boobs, it would create and expose a longer line of cleavage than she has.
“This applies to her silver dress or the black one with the embellishments.
“If the split between the breasts was not there, or it was joined up, these might be quite prim dresses.”
Mair claimed Julianne’s plunging styles would not suit big-busted women.
“For bigger-busted women, it would not work because they would need to contain their breasts.
“More recently, we have seen a lot of celebrities with bigger busts.
"They are quite happy to have them out.”
Julianne was named the newest host of DWTS in May.
She took over from former host and supermodel, Tyra Banks.
Unlike Tyra, who carved out her career in fashion, Julianne was a former dancer before becoming a guest judge on the show.
Now Julianne co-hosts with Alfonso Ribeiro, 51, who started on the show last season.
With all eyes on her outfits and Julianne center stage, Mair said Julianne was looking self-assured.
“She is super confident," she said.
“Julianne has a fantastic figure and is happy to show it off.
“Her style in dresses draws attention to her figure and bust — it works well for her because she is slim all over.
“I think the broader V-neck on the silver dress works very well for her.
“It draws attention to the bust without really showing anything much at all.
"Julianne can carry all this off because she does not have a long cleavage."
Off the set and ahead of her TV fashion journey, Julianne has experienced her fair share of turmoil through the years.
In 2021, she announced she had separated from her husband of three years, Brooks Laich.
The couple began dating in 2013 before tying the knot in 2017.
Otherwise, the star has enjoyed several long-term relationships and has been twice engaged.
These include American Idol host Ryan Seacrest.
In the years before getting married, regarding her style choices, she told Seventeen magazine in 2011: “I can never decide if I want to be glamorous one day, girly one day, or casual."
As a singleton in May, she told Page Six: “Fashion was always this kind of a distant thing that I never really understood until a few years ago.
“And now, it’s at the forefront of how I live my life."
Mair claims Julianne has indeed become skilled at adding mystique to her wardrobe.
She has been photographed parading through Los Angeles wearing a tuxedo.
“The reason the suit jacket looks so attractive and sexy is that we expect to see clothing underneath," Mair explained.
“Here you can not see anything which creates intrigue and mystique which is always sexy.
“The outward appearance is that she is naked apart from the tights so this makes it so attractive and sensual.
“That is a very confident dressed-up look where she is striding.
“It is as if you see something and then you do not see something.
“It would be all about what the viewer imagines is going on underneath.
"This draws attention to the exposed parts, where we expect something to be, but it is not.”
Mair also noted Julianne likes another style that piques the imagination.
“The cowl dress she wears is similar to the tux," she said.
“Cowls are intriguing because they look as if you can see down them, but in reality, you can not.
“They also create an illusion or trigger the imagination.
