Princess Kate Middleton has gone big on green for today’s Trooping the Colour.
The Princess of Wales, 41, wore a custom high-collared button-up coat dress by Andrew Gn and hat by Irish designer Philip Treacy – a favourite among the Royals.
The dress was adorned with a three-leaf clover broach and large enamel buttons, and the wide-brimmed hat with a bow at the back was the same shade of green.
Since it’s custom, it’s nigh-on impossible to say how much the dress will have cost the Royal, but for reference, Andrew Gn dresses tend to go for upwards of £1,000.
As for jewellery, Kate wore sapphire drop earrings that used to belong to Princess Diana.
She rode to the ceremony in a carriage with her three children and Queen Camilla while her husband Prince William rode on horseback.
After stepping out in a matching pink Alexander McQueen suit and shirt on a visit to the Foundling Museum in May, it seems the Princess is really enjoying dabbling with monochrome fashion using bolder colours.
Today’s look is also reminiscent of the powder blue dress and hat combo she donned for the Royal Buckingham Palace Garden Party earlier that month.
This special occasion marks the King’s official birthday, and involves His Majesty inspecting the Horse Guard troops at Whitehall and greeting the soldiers with a Royal salute.
It’s his first since he was crowned King.
