On Friday, October 21, the Duchess of Sussex was pictured out shopping not far from her and her husband’s home in Montecito, Santa Barbara. Meghan was seen walking around Pierre La Fond market, an upscale shopping outlet. She was carrying a Wendy Foster paper bag, suggesting she had been shopping at the designer store.
For her outing, Meghan opted for a dark green jumpsuit by Montecito-based brand Malia Mills, suggesting her commitment to supporting local designers.
Called the Montecito Marimo Green Crepe Jumpsuit, the garment is still available to buy on Malia Mills’ website for a huge $595, currently equivalent to £526. It also comes in black.
The designer described the piece, saying: “Take one part misaki short, one part resolution jumpsuit and what do you get? Your new favorite jumpsuit, that’s what.
“Our montecito jumpsuit has attitude to spare and looks as rad tossed on for a quick coffee run or dressed up for a night out. The icing on the cake (or the salt on the Margarita rim, if you will): packs up super small and rolls out of your suitcase ready to rock.”

Meghan paired this with the Lawson Dark Brown Leather Bucket Bag from French fashion house Chloé, which currently costs a whopping £1,790 on Net-A-Porter, as well as the Laurie Leather and Gold-Tone Sandals from Italian made brand Emme Parsons.
The sandals were flat with black soles and brown straps.
To complete her outfit, Meghan donned the Wide Brim Panama Hat in Chocolate from popular accessory brand Cuyana, and a pair of large round sunglasses by Valentino.
The Duchess had been seen in the sandals, hat, and sunglasses before, but the jumpsuit and bag seemed to be brand new.

Meghan had also tied an olive green jumper around her shoulders, seemingly in case she got cold while walking around the town.
As for accessories, Meghan donned her usual gold Cartier Love bracelet, as well as Princess Diana’s gold Cartier watch.
She also wore a thin chain with a tiny pendant hanging from it, and on her finger was her engagement ring.
The Duchess’ hair was slicked back in a low ponytail underneath her wide-brimmed hat, and she wore minimal make-up.
Royal fans were quick to comment on Meghan’s look – some were impressed with her cool, casual outfit, while others were less keen.
Instagram user @ellainthecityboston wrote: “Very California and the accessories are spot in. Not too many people can pull off a jumpsuit with pockets that add a bit of volume to the thigh area.”
Andrea Farris agreed. She said: “This feels so much more like her! It suits her well.”
Heidi Marie Scott added: “I think she looks fantastic in this. It’s a design that is very in fashion at the moment. You have to have good legs to pull it off and she’s got them.
“I don’t get the loaded diaper comments at all unless people think that the pockets fanning out somehow look like a diaper shape. Meghan kills the casual looks I think.”
User @rebpat1113 said: “I appreciate that she is not wearing something skin tight. The colour is great on her and she exudes relaxed confidence. The jumpsuit is a different shape then most of us are used to seeing but she carries it off.”
However, some royal watchers were not fans of the jumpsuit at all. User @jantinori1 wrote: “Jumpsuit not flattering.”
Jennifer Cutrer wrote: “I don’t like the jumpsuit at all. It’s one of those things that I don’t think anyone could look good in. I love her hat though.”
User @jetaime1433: “This was not a cute outfit. It just wasn’t flattering.”
