PRINCE Harry was left “incensed” after aides stepped in to block a private meeting with the Queen to discuss Megxit, an author has claimed.
The Duke sent an email to now King Charles explaining he and wife Meghan Markle were unhappy – and Royal life was "not working for them", according to royal author Valentine Low.
In an excerpt from her book Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown – published today in The Times – Low claims Harry was under the impression such a decision could simply be “sorted out by email”.
According to the book, he was “incensed”, believing this to be untrue and that it was the courtiers who had intercepted such a meeting, because they feared it was “an attempt to pick the Queen off” before more formal talks with the wider family commenced.
“There was a danger that a private conversation could be interpreted very differently by two people,” a royal source claimed.

Who made it for the Queen's death?
It's reported that the Queen took a turn for a worse on 8 September.
Close members of the family received a call to say to come up to Balmoral because the 96-year-old didn't have long left.
Prince William, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward along with his wife, Sophie, flew up to Balmoral to be by the Queen's side when she died.
Unfortunately, they didn't make it in time. Charles and Anne were the only ones to be there with the Queen when she eventually died.

Prince of Wales attempts to be normal
William got the title, Prince of Wales, after his grandmother died.
The Queen's death has resulted in Charles becoming King, meaning Prince William is now the Prince of Wales.
Over the Summer, William was praised and criticised for embracing members of the Lioness squad as they won the Euros. Former royal butler Grant Harrold told OK at the time: "Historically, there was a rule with royals that you could look but you couldn’t touch.
"That was a lot to do with the mystique surrounding the family but also for security reasons, too. I think William and the other younger royals have realised that they can’t get away with being aloof."
Now that he's Prince of Wales, questions have been raised round whether he'll be able to keep it up.

Harry 'rushing to refine elements of his new book' say sources
Prince Harry wants to "refine" sections of his new book- but it might be too late.
The Sun's Matt Wilkinson writes how sources claim Harry may fear parts will be deemed insensitive so soon after the Queen's death and his dad Charles taking the throne.
It also emerged he got an advance of around £17.5million ($20million) for the "wholly truthful" memoir part of a £35million four-book deal.
Harry, 38, who has launched a series of verbal assaults on his family, has contacted publishers but the book has already been signed off and is expected to be on sale by the end of the year.
It comes amid claims Penguin Random House demanded the first draft be improved.
A source told The Sun on Sunday: "The publishers paid $20million up front because they knew whatever was written would be huge for sales and exposure all around the world.
"But the first draft they received was disappointing as it was a bit too emotional and focused far more on mental health issues than they wanted.
"Eventually, the final draft has been finished and signed off and a lot of money and energy has been spent to make sure it comes out this year.
"But Harry has thrown a spanner in the works as he is desperate to get it refined in the light of the Queen's death, her funeral and his father Charles taking the throne.
"There may be things which might not look so good if they come out so soon after the Queen's death and his dad becoming King.
"He wants sections changed. It's not a total rewrite by any means. He desperately wants to make changes. But it might be too late."

Charles 'should consider opening Balmoral to the public' says SNP
King Charles III should seriously consider opening Balmoral to the public all year round, says the SNP's Westminster leader Ian Blackford.
The Aberdeenshire estate, where the late Queen died, usually opens from April to July before the Royal Family arrive for a summer break.
Only half of its £3million yearly running costs are met through tourism activities.
Mr Blackford said: "Making it a year-round visitor attraction would provide a massive boost to the local economy.
"It would also help Balmoral pay its way."

Angela was the Queen’s dresser, the two are thought to have had a close bond, and the Queen granted Angela permission to write books about the Royals.
Richard Kay, Daily Mail editor, wrote: “Charles was dismayed when Miss Kelly, now a 70-year-old grandmother, was unusually granted permission to author a series of books about her life with the Queen, which were billed as providing a unique insight into the ‘true and lasting connection’ between the two women.”

King Charles still deciding over Archie and Lilibet’s titles
It was expected that Prince Harry’s children, Archie and Lilibet, would receive titles after the King ascended to the throne.
However, a quick Google search reveals that Prince Harry and Meghan’s children are still known as “Master” and “Miss”.
The Times royal editor, Roya Nikkhah, said the delay in confirmation over the children’s titles is “heightening tensions”.
A spokesperson confirmed with The Times: “The King is focused on the mourning period.
“It’s unlikely you’ll know other titles during that period. I’m sure at some point there will be discussions.”
Despite this statement, The Cambridge’s automatically became The Wales’s as Prince William became the Prince of Wales, and Kate became the Princess of Wales.

‘Storm about to break’ between Sussexes and Royal Family
A Sky News host has said she feels the Royal Family are “opposed to reconciliation” with Meghan and Prince Harry.
Daisy Cousens told Sky News: “After lavishing Prince William and Catherine with praise and listing their titles, the King gave but a brief mention of his second son and daughter-in-law, sans honorifics,” she said.
“This is a far cry from the Queen stating that they would ‘always be much loved family members’, in response to their whiney but vicious Oprah interview.
“Her Late Majesty the Queen likely was the buffer between Meghan, Harry, and the rest of the Royals, who are no doubt quietly seething at the slings and arrows the prodigal prince and his malcontent Markle have repeatedly hurled at them.
“Without the Queen’s steady leadership keeping the skies as clear as possible, it may be that a giant storm is about to break.”

In the explosive new book, a palace aide claims: “I think Meghan thought she was going to be the Beyoncé of the UK.
"Being part of the royal family would give her that kudos.
"Whereas what she discovered was that there were so many rules that were so ridiculous that she couldn’t even do the things that she could do as a private individual, which is tough.
"It just required the decision-makers to sit around a table and say, ‘OK, what are we going to do about this? What do you need to feel better? And what can we give?’ "
