Meghan Markle has a “minimal” style which incorporates lots of crisp white shirts, neutral tones and simple accessories. However, Miranda Holder, a fashion coach who is known for her viral TikTok style videos posted under the username @themirandaholder ‘Your Feel Good Fashion Coach’, told Express.co.uk that the Duchess has one “hero” wardrobe item which can “instantly transform an outfit”.
Miranda explained: “She does love the camel coat. Particularly when she was doing more work [in the UK].
“She wears that a lot and it’s a real style signature of hers. I think it’s one of those pieces that are quite a hero wardrobe piece and something we see with Meghan is soft tailoring, sporty-preppy tailoring and feel.
“The camel coat can instantly transform an outfit to make it appropriate for an evening out or an office setting
“She even throws it on over sportswear sometimes and all of a sudden she looks chic. That’s a great thing that readers could do to just add into their wardrobe because it works so hard for you.”
Though the Duchess opts for high-quality, designer items, one of her most well-received looks included a camel coat from Reiss.
The Duchess was photographed wearing the ‘Sabel’ coat from Reiss in January of 2020 during a visit to Canada House with Prince Harry, spiking demand for the wool-blend item.
The fully lined coat featured a longline slim fit silhouette, which makes it such a great transitional piece.
The coat, which sold out due to high demand, retailed for £345.
Miranda said: “Trench coats are another Meghan Markel thing and they tend to elevate every outfit.”
The Duchess is a big fan of Max Mara and was pictured wearing a camel coat by the designer during a stateside visit in March 2020.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited New York to attend Global Citizen Live, where Meghan teamed her camel coat with a black dress by The Row.
In keeping with her simple, “monochrome” style, she added a pair of black Giorgio Armani heels and some black Maison Valentino sunglasses to the ensemble.

Miranda said: “I think with Meghan, it’s quality over quantity.
“She favours a range of designers, lots of American brands these days and lots of high street or contemporary designers.
“She goes for the cut and those enteral colours. What you will find is that if you have a wardrobe consisting mainly of neutrals, your look will naturally look more expensive because you don’t run any mistakes of mismatching colours of anything.
“It always looks very refined.”
