Meghan Markle has launched her first episode of Spotify and Archewell Audio’s podcast “Archetypes,” which focuses on the labels and stereotypes that hold women back. The duchess posed for her series cover art in what is possibly the most essential wardrobe staple: a white crewneck ribbed tank top.
Markle, 41, is known for repeating everyday staples like this one, so her decision to opt for a minimalist look, with absolutely no jewelry in sight, natural makeup, and hair down and relaxed, speaks to her intention behind the project. Markle’s podcast is very much a blank slate that revolves around storytelling based on the guests she invites to share their narratives. In this way, her simple style paints her as casual, stripped back, and raw.
In episode one, released on Aug. 23, she and good friend Serena Williams talk about ambition and how women are perceived when they set goals. Williams also opens up about motherhood and retiring from tennis.
Spotify also shared a snippet of Markle discussing the podcast in neutral, sophisticated workwear, including a striped blouse with a neck-tie left undone, Anine Bing trousers, Aquazzura pumps, her go-to Cartier jewelry, and delicate diamond cluster earrings. There will likely be more press moments to come as she teases the rest of the season for the public.
Ahead, shop tanks that echo the same details as Markle’s, then look back at her most recent summer outfit during a public outing with Gloria Steinem on July 18: a pair of belted navy-blue Dior Bermuda shorts teamed with a relaxed white shirt, Manolo Blahnik pumps, and a covetable Cult Gaia beaded clutch.
