Mike Tindall praised for comforting queen’s youngest grandson James, 14, at funeral as fans call him the perfect royal | The Sun

MIKE Tindall has been praised by viewers after he was spotted comforting the Queen's youngest grandson at Her Majesty's state funeral today.

Zara Tindall's husband Mike, who is an ex-England rugby player, was seen affectionately placing his arm on the back of Sophie Wessex's son James, Viscount Severn as they arrived at Westminster Abbey.


The 14-year-old was seated alongside Mike, and his sister Lady Louise Windsor, 18, for the duration of the emotional service.

It wasn't long before the moving moment was inundated with praise on Twitter.

"Family is everything – well done Mike," enthused one.

A second praised: "I love him. What a great addition to that family. Zara chose well."

James and his sister Lady Louise join the royal family for major events, such as Trooping the Colour, but have largely grown up away from the limelight.
