Mrs Hinch fans go wild over a 20p trick to banish unsightly mould from grout without ruining your bathroom tiles | The Sun

MOULD can cause a range of problems – not only is it unsightly and can instantly ruin the look of any bathroom, the fungus is also responsible for various health issues.

Those who've tried to banish mould from grout will know that it's almost impossible to achieve without damaging your bathroom tiles – but luckily, fans of Mrs Hinch have shared a simple solution.

Mrs Hinch, whose real name is Sophie Hinchliffe, 32, has long been a favourite amongst fellow cleaning enthusiasts, with close to 4.5 million followers on Instagram.

The star rose to fame a few years ago with various home hacks and now her fans have even started dedicated cleaning pages on social media.

In one such group, Mrs Hinch Cleaning tips and tricks on Facebook, a member, Jade White, sought advice: “What's the best way to clean this mould on the sealant and grout please?”

Depending on the type of tiles in the room, it's recommended to best steer clear of using abrasive cleaning agents, such as bleach, as this can potentially “cause permanent damage to the surface and colour of the tiles”, explained experts and Eurotiles & Bathrooms.

Daniella Reed advised: “You need baking soda! It’s a must-have for anyone who struggles with mould on tile grout.

“All you have to do is mix it with enough water until it forms a paste and apply it to the grout.

“Leave it to soak in for 10 to 15 minutes then wipe away the residue and the mould should all be gone.”

Even tile experts at Eurotiles & Bathrooms recommended baking soda to remove the unsightly fungus.

They noted: “Baking soda is an ideal solution for all kinds of cleaning problems.

“As baking soda is a mild alkali, it is not as abrasive as other cleaning products like bleach.
