THEY recently tied the knot in a fairytale ceremony, but Joe Swash has admitted he and his wife Stacey Solomon’s relationship didn’t get off to the most romantic start.
In fact, Joe, 40, exclusively admitted to Fabulous that their first kiss was a total disaster that left him cringing and wondering if they had a future.
Joe first met 33-year-old Stacey in 2010 when she was a contestant on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!
He had been crowned King of the Jungle two years earlier and was hosting spin-off show, Get Me Out Of Here! Now!, later renamed Extra Camp.
The pair hit it off and became friends, but it wasn’t until six years later when Stacey returned to spend several days as a guest on Extra Camp that he knew he couldn’t let her get away without telling her how he felt.
But, in classic joker Joe style, things didn’t quite go as planned.

The former EastEnders star laughed as he recalled: “And then it all went horribly wrong…
“I invited her to my [hotel] room and when I opened the door I just kissed her.
“She didn’t kiss me back. It was totally mortifying.”
However, despite a hairy start, romance continued to blossom and Joe and Stacey soon fell head over heels.

Joe continued: “We kept speaking by phone and stuff, and as soon as I got back to the UK, I went straight to her house from the airport.
“Her whole family was there, so it was a bit full-on. But actually, it was sort of perfect.
“I’d met this incredible girl who was all about family.”
And the rest, as they say, is history. In July of this year, after six years together and two children, they were married in a “beautiful” ceremony in the garden of their Essex home, Pickle Cottage, surrounded by their families, friends, pets and five beautiful children.

Opening up about the day he’ll never forget, Joe said: “It was such a perfect day.
“I think we both had a bit of post-wedding blues for weeks afterwards because we felt that nothing could top that. We both wanted that day to go on forever.”
And Joe couldn’t speak more highly of his Loose Women star wife.
He tells Fabulous: “She’s so funny, so real and so lovely.
