Princess Diana death latest: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle NEED protection in UK insists Lady Di's former bodyguard | The Sun

A FORMER bodyguard of Princess Diana has claimed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex NEED royal protection when in the UK.

This comes as Prince Harry is embroiled in a lengthy conflict with the British government over his and his family's right to royal security and protection.

Now, one of Lady Di's former bodyguards has weighed in on the situation, claiming the royal couple requires protection when in the UK.

"I don’t know what the stumbling block is there….I totally get it when he is back in the U.K.," Lee Sansum told US Weekly.

"He should have protection. I don’t get why he isn’t given it."

Sansum first began working with Diana as part of Dodi al-Fayed's security team.

Today marks the 25th anniversary of Princess Diana’s passing, and reports suggest Prince William and Prince Harry will commemorate the day apart.

Princess Diana died on August 31, 1997, in a tragic car crash that killed the royal, her boyfriend and their driver. The brothers were just 15 and 12 respectively at the time.

Prince Charles is thoughtful to his mother

The heir to the throne reportedly makes daily visits to his ailing mother.

The Queen turned 96 earlier this year and had to miss a number of her events due to reduce mobility.

It’s since been reported that though the Queen is moving around less more family are going to her, including her youngest, Prince Edward, and her eldest, Prince Charles.

The 73-year-old heir to the throne has been described as thoughtful by royal commentator Ingrid Seward: “It’s highly unusual for Prince Charles to make these kinds of impromptu visits to see his mother.

“But Charles is a very thoughtful person — and who else can she rely on now Prince Philip has gone?

“Everyone thinks they normally see each other all the time, but they don’t.”

The Queen is resting more now

The monarch celebrated her 96th birthday this year.

After 70 years married to her late husband, Prince Philip, 70 years on the throne and being only four years off from becoming a centenarian, it’s no wonder the Queen has trouble with her mobility.

As her mobility has decreased, the queen is said to be “resting a lo more” and getting lots of visitors from her children and grandchildren.

A source close to the family said: “The Queen’s condition is not what you would call ideal, but then Her Majesty is 96 after all.”

Meghan’s latest interview should be ‘final straw’, commentator claims

Royal commentator Dan Wootton has suggested Prince William and his father Charles should board a flight to California today to put a stop to Harry and Meghan’s comments.

He told the MailOnline:”That’s why Prince Charles and William, ideally with peacemaker Kate in tow, should board a plane to California.

“I know there’s a million reasons why such an idea would be dismissed as preposterous and impossible, especially given the chance of getting through to Harry seems close to nil – he’s co-pilot of this kamikaze mission, after all.”

Meghan hopes little girls will aim for more than to marry a prince

Talking to The cut for their fall edition, Meghan spoke about aspirations for little girls who see her as a ‘real life princess’.

In the interview, Markle talked about hoping children aim for more than marring into status.

She talked about their power within: “It’s important to be thoughtful about it because—even with the Oprah interview, I was conscious of the fact that there are little girls that I meet and they’re just like, “Oh my God, it’s a real-life princess.”

“I just look at all of them and think, “You have the power within you to create a life greater than any fairy tale you’ve ever read.” I don’t mean that in terms of ‘You could marry a prince one day.’ I mean you can find love. You can find happiness.

“You can be up against what could feel like the greatest obstacle and then you can find happiness again.”

    Nelson Mandela’s grandson slams Meghan

She revealed: “He said, ‘I just need you to know: When you married into this family, we rejoiced in the streets the same we did when Mandela was freed from prison.’ ”

But now Zwelivelile ‘Mandla’ Mandela has slammed the “surprising” comment.

Speaking to MailOnline, he said: “Madiba’s celebration was based on overcoming 350 years of colonialism with 60 years of a brutal apartheid regime in South Africa.

“So It cannot be equated to as the same.”
