Princess Kate reveals George, Charlotte and Louis' adorable reaction to Queen's funeral security | The Sun

THE Queen’s funeral was a large scale event so unsurprisingly a high level of security had to be in place.

Kate Middleton revealed that her three children were “beady-eyed” when it came to spotting drones in the sky that were part of the operation.

Yesterday at Windsor Guildhall, Berkshire, the Princess of Wales, 40, spoke to staff and volunteers who were involved in coordinating the funeral services for the late Monarch.

They thanked those who helped behind the scenes on Monday, including portable toilet workers, rubbish clearers and the crew who moved flowers to The Long Walk.

Prince William and Kate had previously said they wanted to “keep things as normal as possible” for their kids after the death of The Queen.

However, the mum-of-three said Prince George, nine, Princess Charlotte, seven, and Prince Louis, four, had spotted drones in the sky.

Rehearsals sometimes took place at 3am and the Prince of Wales, 40, told the organisers: “Some of the children in the family woke up and they thought, ‘Are we hearing things?’”

Kate added: “We didn't hear it, I would have loved to though."

William continued to staff members: “You guys have been doing such long hours. It was seamless, you could feel it.

“It couldn’t have gone the way it did without your help.”

William and Kate told unsung funeral heroes yesterday there were five rainbows above Balmoral after the Queen died.

The Prince of Wales also revealed he was “choked up” at seeing a sea of flowers and trinkets for her such as toy corgis and Paddington Bears.

At one point, Will turned to Kate and said: “In Scotland, how many rainbows turned up? You hardly ever see rainbows up there, but there were five.”

Smiling, Kate replied: “Her Majesty was looking down on us.”

She stayed in Adelaide Cottage when Will flew north in a dramatic dash to his grandmother’s bedside at Balmoral on September 8.

A rainbow was also seen at Windsor Castle after her death was announced.

Kate said: “Extraordinary weather. Right at the end of the day, the heavens opened.”

Will also spoke about some of his family’s conversations since her death.

He told one worker: “We were saying the other day — the Queen said she had never been rained on at the Cenotaph in 70 years. So we will see what happens this year.”

Asked how difficult the past two weeks had been, he replied: “If you flip it on its head, it is always very comforting that so many people care. It makes it a lot better.”

But he added: “You are prepared for all but certain moments catch you out.”

Kate, who was seen viewing the sea of flowers at Windsor with William along with Harry and Meghan, said: “It was amazing how everyone seemed to want to come.

“Reading some of the messages, the Queen had a personal relationship with every one of these people.

“The messages that were left show the Queen had a special meaning to everybody.”

The new Prince and Princess of Wales also read messages on tributes left outside Sandringham last week.
