George Ezra reveals REAL reason song lyrics were changed for Jubilee performance
Ezra says that appearing at the Queen’s celebration was a bigger deal than he was expecting.
“The Jubilee is a really good example of something going over my head — the magnitude of it.
"It was only when we got on stage and I saw all the flags that I realised, ‘Oh, this really is huge’.”
Ezra played megahit Shotgun and recent single Green Green Grass to the 22,000-strong crowd gathered outside and to the millions viewing at home to celebrate the 96-year-old Queen’s 70 years on the throne.
But many of Ezra’s fans were outraged that Ezra left out the end of one of his lines that referred to “dying”.
The lyric: “Green green grass, blue blue sky, you better throw a party on the day that I die” was changed to not cause offence.
And fans took to social media to complain.
Ezra says: “I think the reaction to it has kind of worked in our favour to say it was unnecessary.
"My gut instinct was that you don’t need to change it.
“I don’t know if it came from the royals or the producers of the show, but it’s pretty obvious that if you’re playing for the Royal Family and the powers that be say, ‘We don’t want you to sing that lyric,’ then you’re not going to argue.”

Princess Anee's husband leaves crowd in stitches
Princess Anne's husband left the crowd in stitches as he joked about filling in for his wife at an event.
Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence attended Founder's Day, the highlight in the Royal Hospital Chelsea's calendar.
He said: "Asking me to stand in for my wife at an event like this is a bit like asking Mrs Harry Kane to lead the England football team out. Or, possibly, to take a penalty for England as her husband did the night before last.
"I don't know Mrs Kane, and for all I know she may well have a very strong right foot, but in any case I'm sure she'd do her best, and so will I."

Prince William put me to shame, says veteran vendor
A BIG Issue vendor says he was delighted to see Prince William outselling him — because his card payment reader was used by the royal.

Veteran vendor Dave Martin, 60, who joined him on the streets, told The Sun: “William sold more than me. That was to be expected.
“But he was using my card machine so it didn’t matter. So all those sales are recorded as mine anyway. He was a great guy.”

Royals to be guarded at Ascot races
THE Royal Family will be guarded by an armed police presence and drones as part of a massive security operation at Ascot.
It looks unlikely The Queen, 96, will attend any of the five days after she missed the Epsom Derby on her Platinum Jubilee weekend.
Princess Anne, 71, deputised for Her Majesty at Epsom and was at Ascot last year so could fulfill royal duties again next week.
Thames Police tactical commander Superintendent Rory Freeman said: "With the attendance of the Royal family alongside the many racegoers, our planning with Ascot Racecourse Limited to ensure the safety of all those attending has been extensive, carefully considered and underway for some time.
"If you plan to be in Ascot during the event period, you will see many of our officers from a number of teams including mounted, firearms and roads policing as well as many out patrolling on foot.
"Many of our security measures will not be as obvious such as our drone unit who will be keeping a watchful eye over proceedings but please be reassured that all of our officers and additional measures are in place to keep you safe.
"Whilst we have many officers in the area, you will always have a unique perspective from what you can see and hear first hand.
"I encourage you to call out inappropriate behaviour of friends against women and girls and report it.
"Please remain vigilant for anything that seems suspicious.
"If something doesn’t seem right, it probably isn’t so please tell an officer or a member of racecourse staff so that we can look into it."

Charles to consider name change when he becomes King
A royal commentator has claimed that Prince Charles could follow a "great tradition" where King's changing their names upon accession to the throne.
Andrew Pierce, a conservative British journalist, told the Jeremy Vine Show that he predicted 10 years ago Prince Charles would change his name upon becoming King.
Jeremy Vine said: “Is he going to be King Charles or did I read somewhere that he’s going to be King George?”
Andrew Pierce said: “Well I wrote that 10 years ago. He would be King George VII, or he could be King Phillip because there’s a great tradition of Kings changing their names.
“So George VI was called Bertie. His brother, who abdicated, Edward VIII, was actually called David. They changed their names; it’s just tradition.”

Prince Charles hails potential of Commonwealth
The Prince of Wales has hailed the potential of the Commonwealth to make a difference ahead of a summit in Africa.
Charles will represent the Queen, when prime ministers and presidents gather in Rwanda for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) later this month.
He said he has “learned a great deal” from the Commonwealth and been “struck time, and again, by how many common threads there are between us”.
The future king continued: “As two out of three Commonwealth citizens are under the age of 30 there is a pressing need to find opportunities for our young people.
“Taking shared responsibility to solve problems like these means the Commonwealth has the potential to make a profound difference in the lives of its citizens – and, in so doing, to be an unparalleled force for good in our world.”

“She went in, and then they asked if they brought their own photographer and they asked if he could take a picture of the two Lilibets and she said ‘no, absolutely not possible’.
“Because they would have sold it. It would be very valuable, very valuable to them.
‘”Actually the palace was so clever and cunning that they never had a chance to be photographed with any of the senior Royals.

Inspiring pic shows Prince William selling Big Issue
Prince William donned a red seller's vest and hat as he quietly sold the Big Issue in central London – before taking a spot in Rochester Row, Westminster to sell the magazine.
He was only noticed when a passing Londoner spotted a "celebrity" – and went in for a closer look.
Retired Met Police chief superintendent Matthew Gardner shared photos of William on his Linkedin account. He said: "My brother-in-law was in London today and saw a celebrity, so he took a photo at a distance.
"The celebrity saw the ‘covert surveillance’ effort and crossed the road to investigate further.
"What an honour to have a private moment with our future king who was humble and working quietly in the background, helping the most needy.
"These ‘silent gestures’ often go unrecognised."
The Duke of Cambridge has been working on homeless projects since his mother Princess Diana took him to see London rough sleepers when he was a boy.
He became royal patron of initiative the Passage, in Victoria, in February 2019, and early last year visited the site to pack up lunches for those in need.
He also took over as patron of Centrepoint homeless charity.

Kate Middleton hinted that she misses having a newborn baby during a public engagement yesterday.
The Duchess of Cambridge, 40, visited Little Village’s hub in Brent, north-east London and was quick to spot two babies at the event.
