PRINCE Andrew has been slammed over his taxpayer-funded security bill – with critics claiming the Duke believes he can return to Royal life.
The Queen reportedly acted quickly to "protect" the Firm in 2019 when the disgraced Duke was hit with a public outcry over his ties to sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein
But Andrew will keep his state-funded police bodyguards following an official review of his security arrangements – despite being stripped of his HRH titles.
Speaking on ITV's Lorraine show, expert Russell Myers said: “Prince Andrew who has left the Royal Family in disgrace is still getting his royal protection.
“It’s costing the British taxpayer between £500,000 and £3million to protect this man who has had to step away in disgrace. You may ask what on earth he is doing for that money? He’s not doing any public engagements.
“He still thinks there is a way back to public life, I imagine he’s probably the only person in the world who thinks that is possible and yet this decision has been made.
“So I think Prince Harry will be mentioning this at his next high court event or certainly his lawyers will take some interest.”
Host Christine Lampard pointed out the sum seems even greater considering Andrew isn’t “doing much” or “going anywhere”.
Mr Myers exclaimed: “He’s not doing anything! We see him riding the Queen’s horses every now and then but he’s certainly not doing any public events.
“The public’s opinion weighs heavily on this case and maybe we’ll see a revisiting of this.”

Harry & Meghan banknote to appear in defaced currency exhibition
An exhibition of money that has been defaced as “cries of anger” in the name of art, including £10 banknotes featuring the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, will open later this year.
The Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge announced that Defaced! Money, Conflict, Protest will open in October.
The exhibition “presents a world history of protest from the last 250 years through currencies that have been mutilated as cries of anger, injustice, mockery or despair”, the museum said.
It is the first major exhibition to display money used as a public canvas for political and social rebellion throughout 250 years of history.
For the first time, it will showcase a new collection of defaced banknotes and coins which has been acquired for the museum by curator Dr Richard Kelleher.
Harry and Meghan appear in a 2019 work by Boo Whorlow called Harry of England/Ten Megs, a reworking of Banksy’s Di-Faced Tenner which featured Diana, Princess of Wales.
In the work, Harry replaces the Queen while Meghan appears on the reverse with the message “Trust No Press”.
Other pieces include a fake 20 US dollar bill with US slavery abolitionist Harriet Tubman on it and a coin commemorating the Peterloo Massacre of 1819, when 15 people were killed at a protest meeting in Manchester as the working-class fought for political representation.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to visit the UK next month, and some had suggested they may see the Queen while in the country.
However, a royal expert has argued it would be better for Her Majesty to stay in Balmoral.
Royal author Phil Dampier took to Twitter to suggest the Queen should stay in Scotland this September.

Samantha Markle is taking her younger sister to court after accusing the Duchess of deformation.
In her Oprah interview with Prince Harry, the Duchess of Sussex mentioned that growing up she “felt like an only child”, however her older sister claimed this was defamation and filed a lawsuit.
