MEGHAN Markle has been slammed for taking a "punch at the Royal Family" during the first episode of her new podcast, Archetypes.
Royal expert Angela Levin has taken aim at Meghan Markle for her veiled comments about the Firm during a conversation with tennis icon Serena Williams.
Speaking on the podcast, the Duchess suggested joining the Royal Family made her uncomfortable with her own ambition.
She told listeners: "Apparently ambition is a terrible, terrible thing. For a woman that is, according to some. So since I felt the negativity behind it, It's really hard to unfeel it."
In response to these comments, Levin said: "She would still be a D-list celebrity if she had not married a prince.
"She thought it was normal to be ambitious and only when she started dating Prince Harry did she realise that it was not welcomed.
"My goodness, that is a smack at Harry and a punch to the Royal Family. Harry told her about life in the Royal Family, but she obviously did not want to listen."
She concluded: "The Royal Family is about ambition in sense of duty and giving. It is not about getting to the top."
Meghan's new podcast was developed by Spotify after the streaming giant agreed an £18million deal with the Duchess.

Exclusive: Inside Her Majesty's secret plan to appoint new PM at Balmoral
In a historic decision, The Queen is set to appoint the new PM at her beloved Balmoral as she continues to struggle with "mobility" issues.
The new Prime Minister will make the 1,000-mile round trip to see the Queen at Balmoral for a historic ceremony to seal the transition of power.
Her Majesty, who has been suffering mobility problems, is no longer expected to interrupt her holiday when Tory voters elect Boris Johnson’s replacement for No10.
A source said: “The Queen has now been advised not to travel.
“But obviously no one tells the Queen what to do and ultimately it is her decision, and as we saw when she made a third appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony at the Jubilee she likes surprises.
“There are some parts of her role that Prince Charles can do on her behalf but the Queen is adamant that she appoints the Prime Minister.
“It may not be the best choice to make the Queen travel 1,000 miles there and back for a 48-hour visit when the Prime Ministers can easily get to Balmoral instead.”

Incredible story of how Meghan Markle fell in love with her first dog

She was at SPOT Rescue in West Hollywood with Ellen DeGeneres, when a little puppy was plopped into her lap.
Ellen immediately told Meghan “take him home.”
In the blog post, remarkably, Meghan describes her affinity with rescue dogs.
She wrote: “I didn’t need to go to an organization that specialized in specific breeds for adoption because I wasn’t in the market for a pure bred dog.
“My rationale: I’m a mutt, and I turned out just fine.”
Bogart was dumped in an alley way with is brother, when he was just five weeks old, Meghan said this amazing pup “changed my life. Everyday he teaches me patience, boundaries, and how to share the bed.”

Palace 'worried' about podcast
Omid Scobie, has claimed the Firm is fearful of what Meghan Markle may share on her new podcast.
The first episode of the show, named Archetypes, touched on a series of issues, including society's response to ambitious women.
But according to Scobie, the Palace is waiting with bated breath to hear what she may say about the Royal Family.
In his latest column for Yahoo Omid wrote: "I’m told Buckingham Palace aides were most definitely not keeping calm, nor carrying on after the show’s premiere on Tuesday, worried about what else might be shared over the next 12 weeks."
He said one aide has since attempted to cast doubt on Meghan's version of events while another has claimed it's "unfair" of the mum-of-two to speak when the Royal Household cannot respond.
But he argued: "this is the reality the royal institution helped create".
He said: "Uncensored and unbothered, Meghan, like Harry, has managed to create a healthier and happier existence since being shown the door after the couple’s half in, half out proposal was rejected.
"The two are now free to show their battle scars as and when they see fit."

Royal expert Angela Levin has given her opinion on what the royal family will be thinking after the release of Meghan Markles podcast.
Angela said: "I think the Royal Family can see that nothing would ever give Meghan satisfaction because she always wants more, more, more.
"We’ve all had enough of “poor Meghan”, particularly at this time when so many people are trying to make ends meet and are worried about the future and how they’re going to manage.
"And there she is, with oodles of money, complaining about everything. It’s so insensitive.
"The next podcast is going to be with another multi-millionaire, Mariah Carey, so you get the gist."

Royal guarantees for a good night’s sleep
The royals lead active and busy lives so it’s no wonder some of them have found ways to ensure a good sleep.
Meghan Markle spoke on her blog, The Tig, about waking up early and starting her day with yoga. Waking up at 4:15 am, Meghan explained: “The morning, as we all know, is that vital time that sets the tone for our day ahead.
“There are so many benefits that come with the practice of yoga – increased flexibility and strength, greater happiness, increased mental focus, a greater ability to relax, decreased anxiety and better sleep.”
Kate Middleton‘s routine is less about the morning and more about making sure she and her family eat on time. She stays active during the day and makes sure she sleeps at 10:30pm every day to maintain a good routine.
The monarch, however, puts emphasis on alone time. Rather than dine with others, the Queen reportedly prefers to eat alone as a means to go over her day wind down.
She apparently also winds down her day with a cup of Earl Grey.
