Sophie Wessex, 57, looked sensational in a Zara dress as she attended a reception for the Trachoma Elimination Programme in Malawi on Wednesday. Prince Edward’s wife opted for the lightweight broderie Anglaise frock as she braved the 24 degrees Celsius heat in Salima.
The £70 dress is a midi gown with long sleeves and a tied belt in the same fabric.
The sleeves are puffy, meanwhile, the shape allows for a deep V-neck, which is perfect for a summery day.
Styling her blonde hair in loose waves, the mother-of-two accessorised with a blue croc-effect clutch bag by French-Italian designer Sophie Habsburg.
The ‘Cleo’ bag retails for 310 Euros, or roughly £271.
It is a small hand-painted shoulder/crossbody bag, with a removable chain.
The Countess also accessorised with a massive star necklace in a pale pink colour, which perfectly matched her pink earrings.
These earrings were the Lucia Odescalchi Lens earrings, which Sophie has worn many times.
The pale pink earrings are simple yet exude so much elegance.
For footwear, Sophie wore her Chloe Eliza Sandals which she has worn many times so far during her royal tour across the Commonwealth.
The Countess has owned these leather shoes since 2015, and are “a high-end fashion item that you need to own now” according to the brand website.
The description reads: “They have open toes, slingbacks, and high wedges.”
The Countess of Wessex attended the reception at the Sunbird Waterfront Hotel to celebrate the country’s success in eliminating the infectious disease trachoma, which is known to cause blindness.
Ending avoidable blindness is a cause the royal has long lent her name to, and she has worked with the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) for some 20 years.
Sophie is visiting Malawi in her role as a global ambassador for the IAPB.
On Wednesday evening, Sophie and other delegates watched a performance by the country’s National Dance Troupe.
The mother of two then delivered a speech to mark the success of the Trachoma Elimination Programme.
On Thursday, Sophie will mark World Sight Day by visiting a local clinic to learn about its sight-saving surgeries and treatments, as well as meeting patients and hearing their stories.
Earlier today, the Countess looked emotional as she flipped through a book of condolence for the late Queen while in Ethiopia.
In one photo she appeared to be reading a message from an ambassador, Victor Adeleke, seemingly penned on September 12, just a few days after the Queen’s passing.
The royal donned a chic charcoal grey blazer for the engagement, featuring stylish lapels.
