Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh attended the Salesian School for Autistic Children in Surrey as part of her duties as Patron of the National Autistic Society. The 58-year-old wore a Victoria Beckham outfit for the occasion.
What did Sophie wear?
The Duchess opted for Victoria Beckham with her tweed short-sleeved round-neck top.
Despite already being in Sophie’s wardrobe, the Duchess has not worn this top in six years, last wearing it in 2017.
The short-sleeved fitted round-neck textured top in light pink is unfortunately no longer in stock.
But Instagram user @goosegirlenfys noted how significant the outfit choice was for the type of engagement.
They said: “Very pretty and softly feminine, like so many of Sophie’s outfits are.
“But more than that, as an autistic person myself, this outfit looks very quiet.
“Some clothes/fabrics make noise. Obviously, corduroy is a good example, but things like satin and leather can make noise that’s actually really distracting and uncomfortable [for the senses].
“Then we can have metal buttons, jangling bangles, things like that. But the Duchess of Edinburgh has chosen a quiet outfit that will be more comfortable for those around her. She’s a lovely, thoughtful patron for the National Autistic Society.”

Sophie paired her top with the matching Victoria Beckham tweed side-drape midi skirt.
Unlike her top, Sophie has worn this skirt much more frequently, last wearing it just over a year ago in March 2022 on a royal tour to the Caribbean.
The definition of this skirt says: “Victoria Beckham tweed midi skirt. High-rise waist. Draped side. A-line silhouette. Straight hem. Hidden back zip.”
Just like the matching top, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh’s skirt is also sold out from the designer label.
The matching top and skirt combination creates an effect that makes it look like a monochrome dress.
However, it is clearly a two-piece outfit. On top, Sophie wore her Max Mara camel wool blazer.
The Duchess has owned this garment since 2021 and it has the following description: “Single-breasted blazer jacket in pure camel broadcloth with a high-waisted semi-fitted cut and smooth cotton velvet patch appliqués halfway down the sleeves.
“The garment boasts a lapel collar, breast pocket and flap-adorned welt pockets.
“Lined with monogram-embellished stretch lining. Horn button fastening.”
Unfortunately, this blazer is also sold out. Other royal fans were also delighted to see the Duchess out in her Victoria Beckham outfit.
