A FASHION fan was left distraught when the designer trainers she’d splashed out on were completely ruined by fake tan.
So she decided to try to fix the issue – and turned to a £6 buy that made them as good as new again.
Stephanie Vavron couldn’t believe it when she wore fake tan and it seeped through her expensive Dolce & Gabbana shoes.
Recalling her big error – and a serious case of bad luck – Stephanie posted a video on her TikTok account @stephanievavron.
She showed the orange stained trainers that were originally white, as she explained: “So when you spend £650 for a pair of trainers and then you wear fake tan and it comes through the trainer.
“These Dolce & Gabbana trainers are the comfiest trainers I’ve ever worn in my life – [but] they’re absolutely ruined.”

But Stephanie had something in her kitchen that she thought might be of use – Vanish’s Oxy Crystals that can be bought in supermarkets from £6.
She then continued: “Let’s use some Vanish and let’s see if I can get the fake tan stains out of it.
“First, I rinsed them with cold water, and then I popped on my Oxy Crystals and left them for about 3 hours soaking, and just scrubbed it into it.
“Then I put them in the washing machine on a really slow, cool wash.”

While a third social media user also knew of the frustration of this happening, as they said: “I ruin so many clothes and trainers and bedding from tan.
“They look like new again!”
And some even had their own tips for Stephanie to keep them sparkling clean in the future.
One person suggested: “Leave them in the direct sunlight too, will brighten them right up.”
